I use a table in which each time I have a visitor, a new record is created with the timestamp. This works for me because I can not only know how many visitors I’ve had, but also gather daily, weekly or monthly statistics.
The way I’m currently getting a single value from mysql is this way:
$query = mysql_query(”SELECT COUNT(*) FROM my_table”);
while($row = mysql_fetch_array($query)){
$count = $row[0];
}
Is there a quicker, easier way. The code looks like overkill for one value.

Ok, God blessed me with a free laptop (macbook) from a friend yesterday, but the CD drive is broken. Is there a way I can interface 2 computers to install games onto my current computer with my friends’ computers? Or can I install it to a flash drive and copy it over to my computer? (I am thinking of the game Rome: Total War, if that has anything to do with it)
